Hi Tim, I am sorry I cant help you with any contact detail but I believe he lived somewhere in Finchley.I remember talking to him at the Park Plaza hotel bookfair, when the late Peter Chapman came over and took a photo of us both together, something I will always treasure. He used to tell me about his younger life in the navy and when he used to do boxing.I liked the way he worked himself and his wife Kitty into some of the covers. I expect many of the people who read the books didn’t realise that the cover artist was actually displayed on the cover. He was a really talented artist and one of a kind.

I was really sorry to hear of the passing of Sam Peffer. He was a real gentleman and always had time to talk to you. I have many paperbacks with his work on the covers and he would always sign them for me. I was sitting chatting to him at a bookfair and he showed me a manuscript he had written about his life story. It would be nice if it was published as I remember it was very interesting. My sympathy goes to his wife Kitty, There were many paperback artists but Sam Peffer was the best.

Hello Tim,

It’s Kathy, Sam Peffer’s niece here. I had not realised that you had lost my contact details and I have only gone into your site for the first time in ages today, and read the messages for 2014 when we lost uncle Sam, having suggested to someone they should visit it to look at examples of his work.

I hope this finds you well.

Kathy
