She is probably best known for her Inspector Alan Grant series of which there were six but only four published by PAN. I thought the five titles published in 1973 in the same style would be five of these but no, one features Miss Pym. I&#8217;ve also included the 1972 edition of <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>&#8216;Brat Farrar&#8217;<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>which is not in the same style! Still wondering why one never read edition <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>&#8216;A Shilling for Candles&#8217;<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>has the red edges?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9k.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-12796\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9k.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"191\" height=\"191\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9k.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/9k-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px\" \/><\/a>I recently noticed some pastiche covers for <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216;Inside Number 9&#8217;<\/span><\/strong> by a fan of the series and also of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Horror\/HorrorStories.htm\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">PAN Horror<\/span><\/strong><\/a> covers. The artist is Sean Coleman and he has combined both interests in a set of six postcards. They are available to buy and I&#8217;ve added them to a page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Bits%20and%20Pieces\/InsideNumber9.htm\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HERE<\/span><\/strong> <\/a>plus several other examples he has done previously. They can be bought via Sean&#8217;s site at <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/colemandesign.co.uk\/shop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coleman Design<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/0.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-12810\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/0-191x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"191\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/0-191x300.jpg 191w, https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/0.jpg 608w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 191px) 100vw, 191px\" \/><\/a>Having mentioned previously the book <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em><strong>&#8216;You Can&#8217;t Play to Win if You Don&#8217;t Know the Rules&#8217;<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>in the 1986 highlights brochure which didn&#8217;t seem to exist I contacted PAN.&nbsp; Almost by return I got not one but two explanations thanks to Alysoun and Chloe. Chloe says <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8220;From what I can tell the originally suggested title was <em>&#8220;You Can&#8217;t Play to Win if You Don&#8217;t Know the Rules&#8221;<\/em>; we have a contract for the same book where it is called <em>&#8220;Fast Forward: A Survivor&#8217;s Guide to Corporate Politics&#8221;<\/em>; but the name it was eventually published under was <em>&#8220;The Po-Po Principle: A Survival Guide to Office Politics&#8221;<\/em><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> I&#8217;ve not found a copy of <em><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216;Fast Forward&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/em> but I have of<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em><strong>&#8216;<a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/2022\/PoPo.htm\">The Po-Po Princple&#8217; <\/a><\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Not an inspiring cover!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><br><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Finally, just a quick note to say I&#8217;ve heard from Chris Hughes who is selling off his collection of titles mainly just with numbers, so the first 400 or so.
