Now wondering how many more there are still waiting to be found? Evan Hunter was one of the pen names of Salvatore Albert Lombino who is probably best know for the novels he wrote as&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/2020\/McBain\/McBain.htm\"><strong>Ed McBain<\/strong><\/a>. <span style=\"color: #000000;\">He also wrote the screenplay for the Hitchcock film pf the novel <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Birds.jpg\">&#8216;<em><strong>The Birds&#8217;<\/strong><\/em><\/a> <\/span>by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Cartland\/DuMaurier\/duMaurier.html\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Daphne du Maurier<\/span><\/a><\/strong> which was published by PAN with a cover by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Later%20PANs\/George%20Sharp.htm\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">George Sharp<\/span><\/strong>.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/AStley.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-13537\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/AStley-186x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/AStley-186x300.jpg 186w, https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/AStley.jpg 454w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 151px) 100vw, 151px\" \/><\/a>It was good to make a return visit to the Astley Book Farm recently, something I&#8217;ve not done since the pandemic. It was certainly busy but mainly around the coffee shop. I came away with a dozen or so with a few from &#8216;The Ten Bob Barn&#8217; (50p) which probably made the average price about \u00a31.50. I&#8217;ll be adding them over the next few blogs but six I&#8217;ve already added to pages are <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;<a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/2018\/Artists\/TomStimpson.htm\">Isvik&#8217;<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em> with a cover by Tom Stimpson, three Colin Dexter titles when I thought I had them all including <a href=\"https:\/\/tikit.net\/2018\/Dexter\/Dexter.htm\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>&#8216;Last Seen Wearing<\/strong><\/em><\/span>&#8216;<\/a> from 1977,&nbsp; <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;<a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/tikit.net\/2018\/Dexter\/Dexter.htm\">The Silent World of Nicholas Quinn&#8217;<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em> from 1978 and <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;<a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/tikit.net\/2018\/Dexter\/Dexter.htm\">Service of All the Dead&#8217;<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em> from 1989, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Later%20PANs\/George%20Sharp.htm\">&#8216;<em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Eight-Some Reel<\/span><\/strong><\/em>&#8216;<\/a> with a cover <span style=\"color: #000000;\">by George Sharp, a<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&nbsp;later edition of<\/span> <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;<a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/2019\/Horizons\/Horizons.htm\">Night Kites&#8217;<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> from 1989 in PAN Horizons series and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/2014%20Large\/RBM\/StephenBradbury.html\"><em><strong>&#8216;Prince Ombra<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span>&#8216; with a cover by Stephen Bradbury. The photo left shows one of the bookcases of PANs at Astley.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A long time ago I picked up a vintage standee made of wood with cutouts. I have been trying to find a copy of the book with the right Dust Jacket ever since and last week I finally succeeded.
