I know four were by Gordon King as he told me and one by John Raynes as I can read the signature but I&#8217;m still puzzling over one which seems to have a signature possibly beginning with &#8216;W&#8217; but that&#8217;s about it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"100\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17087\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature.jpg 350w, https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature-300x86.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I would love to know the artist for <em><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216;Variable Winds at Jalna&#8217;<\/span> <\/strong><\/em>as the original artwork has hung on my wall for years. I&#8217;ve included a few later editions, some with SBNs and some with\u00a0 ISBNs including a few that say PAN Toronto London as opposed to just PAN London but all printed in the UK. I was pleased to see a name I recognised in the credits, that of a fellow PAN Fan, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gavinscott.co\/about-me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Gavin Scott<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">, who not only wrote the script with Terry Jones but also appeared in it. Gavin and I have been emailing on and off since 2016 when he contacted me to say <em><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">\u201cI\u2019m a great fan of your site, which I think is superbly organised and very rich\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 He, like me, is a admirer of the cover artwork and has a collection of his own. Above is a screen capture of Gavin as a newsreader in the film.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"655\" height=\"131\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17103\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature-1.jpg 655w, https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Signature-1-300x60.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 655px) 100vw, 655px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">My last <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Monsarratt.jpg\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;New Titles&#8217;<\/span><\/strong><\/a> list with a picture on the cover features <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Monsarrat\/SideName.htm\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;The Master Mariner&#8217;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> by Nicholas Monsarrat and makes me scratch my head.
