I&#8217;m still trying to find out if there was only one title with a later style of header on the front cover as on <em><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">&#8216;Wuthering Heights&#8217;<\/span><\/strong><\/em>? I also found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/LostBooks.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>&#8216;The Lost Books Of Jane Austen&#8217;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/a> by Janine Barchas shows a couple of PAN covers while a company in the States will sell you a print of <a href=\"https:\/\/thecuriousdesk.com\/shop\/book-cover-prints\/wuthering-heights-by-emily-bronte-print\/?srsltid=AfmBOoojdqBrplOLlenDWLd-Xb5jr58xNvnD7UHjZL-Xc2k6QgvG3fRm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;Wuthering Heights&#8217;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/a> for just $65 in a frame!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I picked up an inscribed copy of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Shrimps.jpg\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;Shrimps for Tea&#8217;<\/span> <\/strong><\/em><\/a>by Josephone Blumenfeld, Alan Bott&#8217;s wife&#8217; It is inscribed <strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>&#8216;For a reveared Uncle from his disrespectful niece Josephine July 1930&#8217;<\/em><\/span><\/strong> which makes it a first edition. The only problem is &#8216;Who was the uncle?&#8217; I though of her Father, Ralph David Blumenfeld, who had one brother, Maximillian. Josephine&#8217;s Mother, Theresa Salie, had two brothers whom I thought would be uncles but my wife reminded me that sister&#8217;s husbands could also be uncles which means another four possibilities. The brothers were Joseph and Siegfried while the sisters were Jane, husband William, Frieda, husband John, Blanche, husband Henry and Veronika, husband unknown,<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Hastings.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-17558\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Hastings.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"206\" height=\"246\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;m now taking random books of the shelves to rescan and the latest couple are GP18 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/PANGP18.htm\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8216;Cases in Court&#8217;<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Sir Patrick Hastings with editions published in 1953, 1954 and 1955. They all appear to have the same front and back cover apart from the title on the 1953 edition which is on a blue background while the others are on a yellow background. Around this time there are quite a few variations of colour for the title background, a bit like the logo on the spine. <\/span><span style=\"color: initial;\">Patrick Gardiner Hastings\u00a0 was born 17\/03\/1880 in London and died 26\/02\/1952 also in London.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"l_ecrd_vqfcts_row\">\n<div class=\"lc_expfact\">\n<div class=\"lc_expfact_default\">\n<div class=\"l_ecrd_vqfcts_row\">\n<div class=\"lc_expfact\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"l_ecrd_vqfcts_row l_ecrd_vqfcts_row_space\">\n<div class=\"lc_expfact\">\n<div class=\"lc_expfact_default\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve finished scanning in the last of the 26 &#8216;Bestsellers of Literature&#8217; I started last week.
