He rarely came back but in 1926 was made a Freeman of the Borough. He died the next year but I don&#8217;t think there is a connection!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I have included\u00a0him as I am not only a PAN Fan but also of Jerome and have a large collection of\u00a0his works and in fact one of his stories &#8216;The Dancing Partner&#8217; appears in<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Kirby\/Jerome.htm\">PAN X71 <\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8216;Alfred Hitchcock Presents&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/JKJ.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4228\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/JKJ-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"JKJ\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/JKJ-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.tikit.net\/panfans\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/JKJ.jpg 504w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The chairman of the Jerome K Jerome\u00a0Society, Tony Grey,\u00a0is on the left and the bust was unveiled by local lad<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jeffreyholland.co.uk\/Jeffrey_Holland\/Biography.html\">Jeffrey Holland <\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">on the right.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">So from the birth of JKJ to a trio of books about the other end of life, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Kirby\/Grave.htm\">&#8216;Famous Last Words&#8217;<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">,<\/span><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Kirby\/Grave.htm\"> &#8216;A Small Book of Grave Humour&#8217; <\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and<\/span><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tikit.net\/Kirby\/Grave.htm\"> &#8216;Dead Funny, Another Book of Grave Humour&#8217; <\/a><\/span>The latter two are rare examples of shaped books as I was told it was very expensive to do die cutting.
